Greetings. My name is Milton. For most of my life, I was a devoted evangelical Christian. A committed follower of Christ, I loved my church and the people in it. We worshipped together, worked together, and shared one another’s burdens. One of my fondest memories is the weekly Thursday night men’s group, where many of the guys from church gathered to share a meal, pray for one another, and study the Bible. Evenings spent around the campfire looking up at the stars, or squeezed into a friend’s garage on cold winter nights, helped forge friendships that I will always cherish. These same men were there for me through some of the most difficult times in my life, helping my family and faithfully lifting us up in prayer. I will always be grateful for them.

Yet even during these years, I struggled with questions that would not go away. Questions about worship, theology, and the nature of the Church. When I read about the worship of God in the Psalms, Isaiah’s vision of the heavenly throne, or the worship described in Revelation, I often struggled to reconcile what I read with what I was experiencing on Sunday mornings. At the same time, I saw changes taking place throughout the broader evangelical world that left me increasingly uneasy. I was worried about handing on to my children a faith whose future was becoming difficult to imagine. More often than not, I felt alone in these concerns. Many around me seemed content with the way things were, and I am genuinely happy for them. But more and more, I found myself longing for an expression of Christianity that was rooted, reverent, and unchanging. Eventually, these tensions became impossible to ignore, and I began searching. Honestly, I wasn’t even sure what I was looking for.

That search eventually led me to Orthodox Christianity. I began by simply trying to find a place where I could feel spiritually at peace. Instead, I found far more than I ever hoped for. What started as a search for something rooted, reverent, and unchanging gradually grew into the conviction that I had discovered a treasure worth pursuing at any cost. This website is the story of that discovery.
